Garmin Nuvi 275 / 275 T GPS

This is a simple little nuvi that will suit someone looking for a cheap but well designed gps unit. It's the same size as the Garmin nuvi 270 GPS with a 3.5 inch screen but this one also includes bluetooth and free traffic which makes it a lot more valuable.

It has improved the interface on the Garmin nuvi 270 GPS to include both the distance to and direction of your next turn, the name of the road that you need to turn onto and buttons to zoom in and zoom out of the map.

This nuvi also used HotFix™ technology which Garmin has recently introduced to allow precise locking onto the satellites for better and more accurate navigation.

Another feature which is particularly cool is the ability to navigate by photographs. Use your computer to login into Garmin's Connect Photo's website or Google Maps - find your location and send the picture to your garmin using your USB port.

Another new feature is the 3D maps which allow you to see hills, forests and other natural landscape features. Very handy if you are travelling in area's or countries that are unfamiliar.

The Garmin nuvi 275T for travelling

If you are planning on travelling around the world with your GPS then you'll know that buying extra maps can be expensive. Many cost around the $100 range each.

While all GPS systems come standard with maps for the US, Hawaii and Puerto Rico, only the later series include Alaska and Canada.

This nuvi however is the first (and cheapest) in the Garmin series to include Europe as well - very handy if you are planning a trip there. Especially since the change of side of road that you need to drive on can be confusing at first.

Basic Features of the nuvi 275

This GPS doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the later series but if you are looking for a good quality, accurate (and cheap) navigation system then you can go past the Garmin nuvi 275T GPS unit. It is a good improvement on the Garmin nuvi 270 GPS.
